Yes, we are still alive

Posted by: Curtis on 10/17 03:29pm

Hey guys! Curtis here. I know it's been awhile, but we've more or less gone underground to work on the awesome first album which will hopefully be out early next year, only making appearences for a show here and there. Currently, the myspace has some live tracks from the battle of the bands at IIT and we won't be posting any new material until the release of the CD, The Way It Had To Be

(Do I hear a release party? I think so!)

We've been in the studio a few times and have a few tracks laid down already. We'll be going back to progress and time and money allows. Also, there is a syncronized podcast countdown going on to match with the release. You can tune in at skaspace.com to The Judgementals podcast

Will be updating with more info when avail. Peace.

Whats Been Up

Howdy Judgementals Fans.  We've been under the radar slightly since early December.  In fact, I think we only played one show in December.  I don't know what everyone else would have to say, but for me personally, my excuse is that I've been getting final arrangements together for our forthcoming debut release.  It will be titled "The Way It Had To Be" and be roughly 15 tracks.  Release date is in the air right now.  Also, we're in "negotiations" with the former frontman of a legendary Chicago ska band to produce the album... more on that if it pans out.

On the show side of things, we're playing an all ska show at the Humility Gallery on Saturday March 17th with our good friends Casual Friday.  On April 6th, we'll be headed back to the other side of the lake to play our second Barn Fiesta in Spring Lake, Michigan.  I'm sure there'll be something before Mar 17, so stay tuned.

Keep on skankin'

Yes Michigan, the feelings forever!

Remember when that was the slogan for the Michigan board of travel or whatever?  Thats a great slogan, right up there with "Virginia is for Lovers" and "Be All That You Can Be".  Don't get me wrong.  This is not to be mistaken for attempted education or advertising relation.  Only a description, just an observation of the... well anyway I digress.

A big "we're sorry" goes out to Selectively Anti-Social and our friends the Flaming Tsunamis.  We missed both their sets cuz of getting there late.  It's just hard getting there on a weekday especially with the time change.  I'm told both sets were great and I'm sorry we missed out.

A huge thanks goes out to Mirf at the mighty Skelletones in Grand Rapids for having us play.  He even gave us waters before the set started.  It's the little shit that counts, you know?  Another huge thanks goes to our friends Heith and Val for letting us stay at their house... I hope the smell went away.  If it didn't, seriously, get a carpet cleaner or whatever and send us the bill.

Oh my goodness.

Anyway, its so great to have such good friends/fans on the other side of the lake... especially those that drive far as hell to see us.  We'll see you all again soon.  And happy birthday to Chris from the Offbeats, hope you had a great time at your party, I know we did.
